My expertise is in heart health and cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention. Much of this effort has been in community-based surveillance of cardiovascular disease, including hypertension and stroke, including leading the Minnesota Heart Health Program and its "Ask About Aspirin" campaign. I serve on NIH Study Sections and Task Forces, as consultant to many of the major programs and studies in the field, and as leader of national and international societies.
