Summary
My research focuses on the epidemiology of respiratory tract infections, the microbiome, and the One Health threat of antibiotic resistance. The bacterial pathogens that I study asymptomatically colonize mucosal surfaces and are important causes of hospital and community-acquired bacterial infections.
Prior to joining the University of Minnesota (UMN), I was the deputy dean and Anna M. R. Lauder Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health.
I became the eighth dean of the UMN School of Public Health on December 29, 2023.
