Summary
My research focuses on access to care and health insurance among disparities populations, including poor, young, elderly, uninsured, rural, and chronically ill populations. I explore the complexities of measuring and estimating rates of insurance coverage, including the discrepancy between survey and administrative data counts of insurance coverage, commonly referred to as the “Medicaid undercount.” My research interests include disparities in access to health care and health insurance as well as developing community-driven solutions to barriers to health care.
I am an investigator at SHADAC and co-director of the School of Public Health's Health Equity Work Group, an interdisciplinary group that aims to reduce health disparities through research, teaching, professional development, and community outreach programs.
