My research interests include: 

  • Safety Net Hospital Performance for Cost, Quality and Access
  • Applied Research Supporting Federal Health Reform Priorities
  • Policy Application of Health Statistics and Epidemiologic Surveillance
  • Population Studies Using Vital Statistics and Surveys

In am also involved in research with the Cuban Society of Public Health and the Minnesota Public Health Association to explore maternal mortality and Cuba and maternal mortality among Latino women in the United States.
