My research focuses on cardiovascular and chronic disease epidemiology and nutritional epidemiology. Specifically, I take part in a number of ongoing, long-term studies about cardiovascular health and research dietary patterns and chronic disease; diabetes; periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease; measurement of physical activity and diet; lung function; blood pressure; and implications of low serum cholesterol for stroke, infection, and other noncardiovascular diseases.
