Division of Environmental Health Sciences
Dr. Frizzell has been honored to be a tribal technical advisor for health care and services policy for over 29 years. She has extensive experience in working with countless tribes across the nation to enhance their infrastructures and assist in their quest for self-determination. She was chosen to be in the first class of Rural Health Fellows, a program initiated by the Office of Rural Health Policy and served as technical adviser and writer for the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (P.L. 94-437 as amended).
She currently serves on the national Office of Minority Heath’s Advisory Committee, Governing Board of the Minneapolis Indian Health Board; Global Health Faculty Associate; and an Associate Professor, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota.
She developed six classes in American Indian Health and Wellness; and an American Indian Graduate Minor and a Regents Certificate for American Indian Public Health and Wellness. She also teaches and provides presentations on tribal public health and wellness.
